Refrain from derogatory remarks or face social boycott: MMU | KNO

Srinagar, Jan 18 (KNO): Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) on Saturday warned miscreants of social boycott if they indulge in any derogatory remarks. Kashmir’s Grand Mufti, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam flanked by religious clerics from different sects including Shia and Sunnis, while addressing a news conference here said, “The derogatory remarks will not be tolerated at all. If anyone is found indulging in such practices he will face social boycott,” he added. The Grand Mufti, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), informed that the discussions took place between him and Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Moulvi Umar Farooq following which the meeting of MMU was held today. “There is a need to work together to eradicate the drug menace,” he said. He added that the drug related activities will not be tolerated around the Masjids and religious places, thus the government should keep close vigil around the religious places to ensure that no such activities take place. The Grand Mufti further added that a joint committee will be formed soon to ensure unity, adding that the announcement in this regard will be made soon—(KNO)
